Waiting on Wednesday 9.14.2016

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme started on the blog, Breaking the Spine.  It is meant to bring attention to the books that we are drooling over but are not yet able to read.

This Wednesday, allow me to introduce you to Nine Candles of Deepest Black by Matthew Cox.

On her first day at school, a chance encounter with a bullied eighth grader reawakens a gift Paige had forgotten, and ingratiates her into a pack of local outcasts. After witnessing Paige touch the Ouija board and trigger a paranormal event, the girls are convinced another try with their new fifth member will finally work.

Why I'm Looking Forward to it

1.) I love stories that take unexpected twists and turns.  The final sentence of the description above signals that this book is going to be chock full of them!  How will things turn out?

2.) I love this cover!  I know that sounds super tacky, but how could I not want that cover on my shelf?

3.)  I like that the author has decided to take a dark twist with a character who has already started down a dark path.  Will she continue on her path into darkness or will she head to a brighter future?  I seriously need to know!
