Waiting on Wednesday 9.21.2016

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme brought to you by Breaking the Spine.

Hello everyone!  I hope you have all been enjoying the blitzes and cover reveals over the last two weeks.  Please let me know if there are any you are more interested in!  I try very hard to make sure that the blitzes I take on are in line with my Reviewing Policy.  I have been sharing more of them than usual lately, but it is my goal to post at least once every day.  If those posts can help authors, more power to those posts!

This week, I want to talk about Gilded Cage by Vic James which will be released on February 14, 2017.

NetGalley Description
For readers of Victoria Aveyard and Kiera Cass comes a darkly fantastical debut set in a modern England where magically gifted aristocrats rule—and commoners are doomed to serve.

NOT ALL ARE FREE.
NOT ALL ARE EQUAL.
NOT ALL WILL BE SAVED.

Our world belongs to the Equals—aristocrats with magical gifts—and all commoners must serve them for ten years.

But behind the gates of England's grandest estate lies a power that could break the world.

A girl thirsts for love and knowledge.

Abi is a servant to England's most powerful family, but her spirit is free. So when she falls for one of their noble-born sons, Abi faces a terrible choice. Uncovering the family's secrets might win her liberty—but will her heart pay the price?

A boy dreams of revolution.

Abi's brother, Luke, is enslaved in a brutal factory town. Far from his family and cruelly oppressed, he makes friends whose ideals could cost him everything. Now Luke has discovered there may be a power even greater than magic: revolution.

And an aristocrat will remake the world with his dark gifts.

He is a shadow in the glittering world of the Equals, with mysterious powers no one else understands. But will he liberate—or destroy?

Why I'm Waiting for it
1. I'm excited to see a book that I can't predict the ending of!  These ideas are so foreign that I'm drooling!

2. These characters are described very well.  Will they be characterized as well in the novel as they are in the description?  I'm dying to know!

3. I seriously need to know what Abi chooses.  What is she going to value more, love or liberty?  I know I would go for liberty, but I can't speak for her!

What do you think?  Will Abi follow her heart or her freedom?  What are you waiting for this Wednesday?  Let me know in a comment below!

  1. This one is on my TBR list too! It sounds AMAZING. I just hope it's as good as it's hyped up to be.
